Lorraine Jordan Honored in the 2024 Women to KNOW in North Carolina State Book

[FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE]

Lorraine Jordan Honored in the 2024 Women to KNOW in North Carolina State Book
Recognition Highlights Her Professional Achievements and Community Impact

Raleigh, NC, July 2024 – Lorraine Jordan, renowned as the “Lady of Bluegrass” and the dynamic founder and owner of Jordan Driving School, Jordan Entertainment, and Lorraine’s Coffee Shop, has been honored in the prestigious 2024 Women to KNOW in North Carolina State Book. This accolade celebrates her exceptional professional accomplishments and profound community impact.

Women to KNOW in North Carolina is a unique recognition program that profiles top businesswomen across the state for their professional accolades and community contributions. Applicants are thoroughly interviewed and selected by a distinguished panel of previous honorees and community members. Criteria for nomination include a minimum of ten years of professional experience, ownership, and management of a business, or serving in a C-Suite executive position. Additionally, nominees must demonstrate significant advances for women through community impact, activism, or philanthropy.

The honorees were celebrated at a gala dinner in Charlotte in July 2024, where each woman was acknowledged for her achievements and dedication to community building. The selected women will also be featured in the Women to KNOW in North Carolina hardcover book, which is distributed statewide. - https://publishing.theknowwomen.com/2024-northcarolina/80/

“I am deeply honored to be included among such distinguished women,” said Lorraine Jordan. “This recognition underscores the importance of supporting and empowering the next generation of female leaders. In my businesses, I strive to offer women opportunities in roles traditionally considered outside their comfort zones.”

Jordan’s impact on her community and beyond is substantial. She owns one of the largest driving schools in the nation, Jordan Driving School, and operates Lorraine’s Coffee House, a popular coffee house and café in Garner, NC. Her company, Jordan Entertainment, organizes numerous musical festivals throughout the Eastern USA, including Bluegrass Christmas in the Smokies and Bluegrass in the Blue Ridge. An award-winning musician, Jordan has produced eleven projects, achieved five national number-one songs, and won a song of the year award. She tours full-time with her band, Carolina Road.

Lorraine’s commitment to women’s empowerment is evident in her business practices and community initiatives. “When I started as a Driver Education teacher, I was one of only four women in the largest county of North Carolina. Today, 60% of my driving teachers are women. Leading an all-male band has also inspired other female musicians to pursue their dreams in a traditionally male-dominated field.”

In addition to her business ventures, Lorraine launched the Daughters of Bluegrass project, which encourages young girls to enter the music field and take chances. “Women’s empowerment means coming together to make the world a better place, doing our best, and sharing ways to improve women’s lives in various fields,” she emphasized.
